Ivrnet enhances Calgary Transit’s customer service with
instant bus/train times via text messaging app.
Calgary, Alberta, (March 19 2012) -- Ivrnet Inc. ("Ivrnet") (TSX-V: IVI) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Calgary Transit to provide text messaging services to transit riders who in 2011 took 95+ million rides. “The new text messaging service will allow Calgary Transit riders to quickly and easily determine when their next bus or train will arrive,” says Hanif Mohamed, Ivrnet’s Director of Marketing and Commercialization.
“The rider simply sends a text message with Calgary Transit’s four-digit code on signs adjacent to each bus stop or train platform to 74000, and they will instantly receive the next two stop times for their bus or train. It’s simple, instant and free information for Calgary Transit riders – 24 hours a day – 365 days a year.”
Calgary Transit riders also have additional complimentary texting options available to them. “If they want to receive general notifications from Calgary Transit about changes to scheduling or perhaps delays due to weather for their bus or train route, they can subscribe to a text message alert service that will be sent directly to their cell phone by creating a profile at www.calgarytransit.me. They can also choose their preferred routes and send a text message with the word ME to 74000 to receive the next two stop times for those routes.”
Mohamed also noted that Calgary transit riders are responsible for their own text-messaging plans with their respective cell phone providers to use the new texting service.
